Celebrating
My Child, Each and Every Day (continued)
And
back to that conversation with Mr. Burgess in Bermuda.
During our summer chat, he assured me that I won’t
regret this decision I've made. You know, I strongly
believe he’s right. Take his family for example --
his children, all raised by a stay-at-home mother,
continue to make numerous contributions to the Island
of Bermuda through their involvement in areas such
as creating/operating a summer camp and majorette
troupe for Bermuda's youth. These are just to name
a few of the things the Burgess children are doing
locally. With that in mind, let’s not be so quick
to knock stay-at-home parents. We're capable of producing
productive and valuable citizens, too.
Penny Powell is a freelance writer
from Bermuda who currently resides in Virginia Beach
with her husband, Collin, and their 6-year-old son,
Caleb. Since becoming a mother, Penny writes primarily
about parenting and has also written a children's
book that she hopes to have published soon.
