With Reflect.com
a Little Pampering Goes a Long Way
by Stacey

While it is great to get away from household responsibilities
for a little pampering by going to the
beauty salon, the health club or a spa, it is also satisfying
to incorporate pampering into your everyday routine.
Reflect.com allows you to do so. Reflect.com is
a customized beauty site formed in 1999 by Procter &
Gamble and Institutional
Venture Partners. Reflect.com makes everything from
lipstick to moisturizer to perfume based on your profile.
Even tasks that are ordinarily mundane, such as washing
your face before going to bed, become mini-pampering
events if you use a product designed just for you. There
is something powerfully self-indulgent about a custom
product. "In the new millennium, a personalized
beauty dimension is more essential than ever,"
explains Gabrielle Mackey, Reflect.com Project Manager.
"Women want and deserve individualized attention.
Reflect.com is a modern vehicle, enabling women to express
their own beauty and style."
To develop a custom beauty product, you fill
out an online questionnaire that asks a few
questions about everything from skin type
to hair color. Then you select custom packaging,
including a label that might say, "Stacey's
Lotion." In less than 10 days, your custom
product arrives. I have personally tried custom
lotion, facial cleanser, mascara and lipstick.
I have been happy with each. I am especially
particular about facial cleansers because
I have extremely dry, sensitive skin. I also
have eczema. In addition to needing a product
that addresses those needs, I prefer one that
has a creamy, luxurious texture. Reflect.com
provided me with exactly what I needed. "I
chose the shampoo and conditioner without
the pump so that it is easier for me to take
to the gym," explains Gabrielle Mackey.
"Others may find it better and more convenient
to have a pump. It is the little things that
all women should treat themselves to. A little
pampering each day goes a long way."
