Isaiah's World: Speech Therapy and Beyond

No! No !

January 3, 2004

Today was the first snowfall of the year. As I am in the midst of heavy-scrapbooking, I realized that we do not have any pictures of Isaiah in the snow. Because the temperature was fairly mild, we decided to let Isaiah play in the snow. Actually, Harold and Isaiah played in the snow while I snapped pictures. Occasionally a snowball hit me in the head.

I explained to Isaiah that the white substance was snow. He immediately said “no! no!”--- attempting to say “snow.”

Isaiah enjoyed himself. He loved kicking the snow. At first he was hesitant about picking up snow, or taking a snowball from Harold. Finally, he was willing to grab a snowball and throw it at a bush. I showed Isaiah how to make an angel in the snow. He did not quite get the point; so he basically ignored me! I still had fun!

After about 30 minutes, we had to drag Isaiah back in the house. He kept pointing out the window saying, “no! no!”
