Designer of Afrocentric
greeting cards launches website that celebrates African-American children--

Evanston, Illinois (February
17, 2000) - Stacey Montgomery,
designer of greeting cards, invitations and announcements that feature
African-American children, announces the launching of a new website
under the name celebratingchildren.com that offers products and
information for parents and caregivers of African-American children
under the age of 8.
Celebratingchildren.com, in addition to offering cards, books and
gift items, will provide articles that explain ways to creatively
maintain an Afrocentric spirit both in your children's everyday
lives and in the celebration of the special occasions in your children's
lives. The articles will supplement traditional parenting resources
by examining the creative forces behind the trends in children's
products. There will be 4 regular columns. "Children's Literature"
will discuss Afrocentric children's books by not only looking at
the text, but by glimpsing at the authors, illustrators, and booksellers.
"Local Focus" will visit sites in different parts of the
country that have themes or exhibits of particular interest to African-American
children. "Celebrations" will show readers different ways
to celebrate special occasions. The "Feature" column is
open to articles on a variety of different themes.
Stacey formed STACEY·NERY in 1994 to fill the void in the
greeting card industry of a variety of types of Afrocentric greeting
cards. The STACEY·NERY line is unique from the industry standard
in that its designs are simple and fun and the messages are light-hearted
and inspirational. The line features graduation cards, Christmas
cards, bridal shower invitations, moving announcements, children's
party invitations, birth announcements, baby shower invitations,
and thank you notes.
